Just around the cornerWell, here we are again: Nanowrimo is days away. I didn't participate last year--I decided to do Nanoblomo (or something like that). It was basically blog every single day. Ha! I don't think I quite managed every day but it was very nearly close. This year? I am writing...what no clue. I have a character sketch, a vague plot (and I mean vague!), and a stack of tunes lines up to help grease the wheels (I am currently loving Mika). I have two Nanowrimo buddies (local too!) this year and they've been asking me about my plans. No it's a secret! I hate sharing story ideas...they are almost like wishes, esp in this stage. A strong wind and poof it's gone. I also have a knitting deadline--so I might just be burning the candle on both ends. Heck it looks like I will be microwaving it on high. 12:53 PM Link - (0) comments - Links to this post November 14, 2006 StalledWell I haven't written at all. Between preparing for the in-laws visit and the actual visit...I hadn't the time to write or even think a word. I think I have 24,000 words to make up.Sigh. Life also sucks right now...permeating all layers of my pysche. Word Count: Let's NOT go there. 7:17 AM Link - (0) comments - Links to this post November 06, 2006 Not much writing going onOkay--so far it looks bad. I haven't written since the first. BUT I have been a whirling durvish of clean. Family comes in this afternoon and who knows if I'll be able to write a word this week. THUNK! Maybe I'll resort to the old pen and paper.Word Count: The same at 2305. 6:25 AM Link - (0) comments - Links to this post November 03, 2006 Writing SomethingI didn't write at all yesterday. Mic monopolised the laptop, playing games, and I was cleaning. Today, I am cleaning still...but in the office and I have a copy of the story on the main computer staring at me.I don't think I am exactly stuck right now...but a bit unsure. And still I like my characters...so that's a postive thing. I was talking to a friend about my awesome word count (awesome for me that is) and she asked how may pages that was. About 5 I replied and then she asked me if I was double spacing. LOL. It's not the pages--it's the word count that's the big deal. I also hate it when people ask me what genre I write. I don't think about genre when I am coming up with an idea. I also don't like the negative attitudes around certain genres. Writing is taxing no matter what genre you write it. You still need characters, plot and conflict. Vampire or Cowboys: you still need to make them real to your reader. Word Count: 2305 11:59 AM Link - (0) comments - Links to this post November 01, 2006 Progress!!I wrote for a few hours today. I found having the I-pod in my ears while I am writing helps.I have yet to write this much in any previous NaNoWriMo. I feel awesome!! I can reach my goal of 50K. So far I don't hate my main character either. I am reluctant to share right now my premise...just to say it deals with the feelings of intense isolation. Word Count: 2305 2:21 PM Link - (0) comments - Links to this post Thus the Torture BeginsI am determined to write my 50K this year...I will not stop even if I hate my characters or have no idea what I am doing. Even if I write crap I need to write something.I haven't begun writing yet (yeah bad sign)...but I intend to squeeze some in before lunch and instead of knitting as my reward--writing will be my reward as I clean today. Word Count: 0 9:23 AM Link - (0) comments - Links to this post October 31, 2006 NaNoWriMo Eve!!I am hours away from writing...my fingers are twitching.I have a main character. I have the conflict. I have a general plot of sorts. I am ready to plow through this and make some awesome crap! 9:03 AM Link - (1) comments - Links to this post October 09, 2006 Nanowrimo Time AgainWell having failed distrastriously at my weekly writing challenge to myself-- SHAME on all of YOU for not badgering me! Grin--I am wholly unprepared for this years Nanowrimo. I have two weeks to come up with some sort of plot or something. I think Novemeber is a TERRIBLE time for this challenge...between preparing for Thanksgiving and knitting for Christmas it's hard to find time to write.Dammit I have GOT to come up with something! I don't want ANOTHER year pass me by!!! 10:26 AM Link - (0) comments - Links to this post |
My Nanowrimo Project This writers blog details my nanowrimo journey. This is where you'll find excerpts (if I wish to let them see the light of day) and where I can curse and complain with impunity. This is the inside of a writer's mind...don't mind the mess.
